1970 Chevrolet Chevelle Coupe 5-Speed | Hill Side Motors

About This Vehicle

Presented by Hill Side Motors, this beautifully rebuilt 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle combines iconic American muscle car styling with modern performance, suspension, braking, and comfort upgrades.

The Chevelle was removed from long-term storage in 2018, launching an extensive restoration and performance build. The body was removed from the frame, damaged and worn panels were repaired or replaced, and the car was refinished in a stunning metallic quartz finish. A replacement Hellwig boxed frame was installed and finished with Raptor lining as part of the refurbishment.

The exterior features a functional cowl-induction hood, SS 454 badging, dual side mirrors, quad headlights, hood pins, chrome bumpers, and a dual exhaust system. The car rides on classic 15-inch Super Sport wheels with SS center caps and chrome trim rings, wrapped in BFGoodrich Radial T/A white-letter tires measuring 225/60 up front and 275/60 at the rear. A matching spare is stored in the trunk.

Handling and braking have been comprehensively upgraded with SPC Performance upper and lower control arms, UMI Performance front and rear stabilizer bars, QA1 adjustable front coilovers, power steering, and a Right Stuff four-wheel disc brake system with drilled and slotted rotors, red calipers, and braided stainless-steel lines.

Inside, the cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench retrimmed in black vinyl, complemented by a matching dashboard, headliner, headrests, door panels, and replacement black carpeting. Sound-deadening material has been installed beneath the carpet. Modern additions include three-point seatbelts, Vintage Air climate control, an American Powertrain shifter, branded floor mats, a fire extinguisher, and a Retrosound stereo.

The two-spoke steering wheel is mounted on a tilt column and frames Dakota Digital instrumentation, including a 120-mph speedometer, 8,000-rpm tachometer, analog clock, and auxiliary gauges.

Under the hood is a rebuilt 454ci V8 replacing the original 396ci engine. The fuel-injected V8 is equipped with a Weiand intake manifold, FiTech electronic fuel injection, Griffin aluminum radiator, dual electric fans, finned air cleaner assembly, aluminum valve covers, billet serpentine belt system, and a custom exhaust system with electronic cutouts and Flowmaster mufflers.

Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a Tremec five-speed manual transmission, replacing the factory automatic, and a 12-bolt PosiTraction rear end with 3.31:1 gearing.

With its rebuilt fuel-injected 454ci V8, Tremec five-speed manual transmission, PosiTraction rear end, upgraded coilover suspension, four-wheel disc brakes, and beautifully restored SS-inspired appearance, this Chevelle delivers the perfect blend of classic muscle car attitude and modern performance.
